No More Divided Societies (NM:S): Strengthening Youth-Led Inter-Ethnic Solidarities is an Erasmus+ project that brings together actors from Croatia, Serbia, and Cyprus who are engaged in overcoming ethnic divisions and fostering inter-ethnic cooperation within their societies.
Led by Youth Initiative for Human Rights – Croatia, the project includes two additional NGO partners—Youth Initiative for Human Rights – Serbia and Urban Gorillas from Cyprus—as well as one academic partner, the Center for Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Rijeka. The project runs from 1 September 2025 to 31 December 2027.
As part of this project, the second study visit took place from 23 to 28 June 2026, hosted by the Youth Initiative for Human Rights Serbia. Participants from Croatia, Serbia, and Cyprus attended the Youth Summit in Novi Pazar and visited Belgrade, where they toured a number of organizations, institutions, and memorial sites, took part in cultural activities, and engaged in discussions with various stakeholders who contribute in different ways to overcoming national divisions.
Representing the Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Rijeka were Dr. Valentina Otmačić and Dr. Sonja Stojanović Gajić. During the study visit, the Belgrade promotion of Valentina Otmačić’s book Oases of Peace in the Wastelands of War was also held at the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory.
The third and final study visit will take place in Cyprus at the end of October this year.
