The third annual memory walk, “On the Pathways of Gorski Kotar Peacebuilders,” will take place on Saturday, 19 September, starting at 2:30 p.m., along the route from Mrkopalj to Tuk.
The memory walk, organised by the “On the Pathways of Gorski Kotar Peacebuilders” Initiative to mark the International Day of Peace, is dedicated to preserving the memory of the brave women and men who, during the 1990s, resisted nationalist divisions and wartime violence in the Gorski Kotar region, preserving peace and collaboration.
This year’s memory walk is supported by the Robert Bosch Foundation as part of the “Gorski Kotar Peace Heritage” project.
The “On the Pathways of Gorski Kotar Peacebuilders” Initiative is the recipient of the 2026 Nada Dimić Award, in recognition of its work in preserving the memory of those who, during the wars of the 1990s, chose cooperation, solidarity, and the saving of human lives.
