{"id":3898,"date":"2024-09-21T10:46:00","date_gmt":"2024-09-21T08:46:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/csmk.uniri.hr\/?p=3898"},"modified":"2025-04-20T19:38:28","modified_gmt":"2025-04-20T17:38:28","slug":"celebrating-international-peace-day-in-mrkopalje","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csmk.uniri.hr\/en\/celebrating-international-peace-day-in-mrkopalje\/","title":{"rendered":"Celebrating International Peace Day in Mrkopalje"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On the International Peace Day, 21. 09. 2024. in Mrkopalj, jointly organized by the Youth Initiative for Human Rights, Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, the Municipality of Mrkopalj, the Mrkopalj Elementary School and the Center for Peace and Conflict Studies of the University of Rijeka, the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Peace School in Gorski Kotar was held. A memorial walk was organized during which visitors visited four places of remembrance of the Peace School and its founder Franjo Star\u010devi\u0107. In addition to the Mrkopalj Elementary School, participants also visited the house where Franjo Star\u010devi\u0107 lived, Franjo&#8217;s grave in the Mrkopalj cemetery and the House of Peace under \u010celimba\u0161a, where the Peace School operated for a number of years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the Peace School, a documentary film shot by Rasim Karali\u0107 was created.
