Panel discussion on the role of young people in shaping the future of Europe

Dr. Marko Kovačić, Assoc. Prof., from the Center for Peace and Conflict Studies, University of Rijeka, participated as a panelist at the fourth cross-border debate “The Role of Youth in Shaping the Future of Europe”. Held on 4 March 2025 via the Zoom platform, the debate brought together experts from different European countries to discuss mechanisms for encouraging young people to participate in policymaking and civic activism.

Kovačić shared with the participants his research and experiences on ways to involve young people in policy development at the local, national and European levels. In addition to him, the panel also included Alexandra Beweis (Austria), Michael Mcloughlin (Belgium) and Nikica Torbica (Croatia), moderated by Irena Mikulić.

The debate is part of the Impact4Values ​​program, implemented by the SLAGALICA Foundation, the SOLIDARNA Foundation and CNVOS, with financial support from the European Union and the Office for Cooperation with NGOs of the Government of the Republic of Croatia.
