As part of the Erasmus+ project PD4D – Professional Development of Youth Workers, the first in-person project meeting was held, bringing together representatives from partner universities in Estonia, Ireland, North Macedonia, Australia, and Croatia.

During the meeting, project partners collaboratively reviewed Work Package 2, which focuses on research and a comprehensive literature review in the field of youth work. Particular emphasis was placed on sharing experiences and approaches from different educational systems, as well as analyzing existing academic programs related to the professional development of youth workers.

Participants discussed key challenges and opportunities for enhancing education in youth work and agreed on the next steps: the publication of a detailed analysis and the preparation of scientific articles based on the conducted research.

The next project meeting is scheduled for autumn 2025 in Tallinn, continuing the successful collaboration of partners in improving the quality of education and professional development in the field of youth work.

The aim of this project is to enhance the professionalism of practitioners working with young people in addressing the needs of diverse youth groups. The project fosters collaboration between educators and practitioners, facilitates the integration of theoretical knowledge with practical application, empowers youth workers to develop innovative approaches and activities, and promotes evidence-based practices in youth work, thereby strengthening the quality and visibility of the field.

The implementation of the project is funded through the Erasmus+ programme.
