Organized by the Center for Peace and Conflict Studies and the Goran Spring event, a workshop on reading and writing anti-war poetry for primary and secondary school students and their mentors was held in Rijeka on May 3-4, 2024. The participants discussed the role and importance of literature, but also art in general, in building peace, with special emphasis on the Mrkopalj Peace School. The workshop leaders were Helena de Karina and Nebojša Zelič, and the guest of the workshop was writer Igor Beleš. Under the guidance of poet Ana Brnardić and poet Goran Čolakhodžić, the participants also tried their hand at writing poetry.
