Organized by the Youth Initiative for Human Rights from Croatia and Serbia, and with the support of the Center for Peace and Conflict Studies of the University of Rijeka, the Regional Summer Activist School for Youth from Croatia and Serbia ‘Mir Mir’ was held at the Petehovac Mountaineering Center (Delnice) from 2 to 8 June 2024. About fifteen participants had the opportunity to learn about the history of Gorski Kotar as the only multiethnic community in Croatia that resisted ethnic violence during the 1991-1995 war, and about the Peace School, which was a significant element of that resistance. On 7 June, a public discussion “Is there a space for a Peace School in the green heart of Croatia? – Preservation of the heritage and renewal of the activities of the Mrkopalj Peace School” was held at the Janet Majnarich City Library in Delnice.
